When choosing a business you want to start or pursue, the opportunities are huge and there are a wide variety of business models that you should consider before deciding on one.

Discussed below you will find statistics and analysis of the plumbing training as a business opportunity for you.

Government economists expect average job growth for plumbers, compared to growth in other careers, through 2014. You should find plenty of work if you choose plumbing, because there won’t be enough job hunters to take all of the open positions.

The average yearly salary for plumbers is about 27K GBP. Keep in mind that apprentices start work at half the salary earned by experienced workers. You can expect to receive raises throughout your training though, often every six months.

Interestingly both men and women are suited for the plumbing profession and as the above shows it pays more than various other professions.

The above makes it clear that the plumbing industry and the requirement for plumbers is growing and will grow in the near future. The plumber’s need to be trained for the above and hence plumbing training opens a host of opportunities for you.

The very 1st page of fastplumbs web sites says "Fastplumb are registered with six major insurance agencies that cover the whole of the UK" how come they never ring me with work if your thinking of buying a franchise then ask the director Phil Burston if you can see the written proof of these agreements before you sign! i know i should have done. the only work i ever get is work i get myself and its just about enough to make ends meet, good work is getting hard to come by these days!

Stung franchisee. Certainly not lazy, now running a very successful business - NOT PLUMBING. The training is rubbish (and if you're making a living from Fastplumb's 'training', you are certainly a cowboy; how much training did you get for under-concrete pipes or do you just rip off old ladies?) and the support even worse. I am in aware of a few other franchisees who have gone bust or realised they were being ripped off and got out of it without even attempting to trade.

As this is anonymous, how would you know if i was a Fastplumb Franchisee or not? Is that Phil Burston or Len Trueman (Charlatan peddlers of the FAstplumb myth). No reason to trash FP other than to warn anyone considering not to. My advice to anyone considering a FP course or one like it would be to get in touch with a plumbing college and ask their opinion. Nuff said!

I have been a Fastplumb franchisee for 12 months next week. Fastplumb never guaranteed me a level of work. They were totally honest in how they set me up. They helped me move from by boring regimented old job to something that I control. The first six months were tough. Getting jobs, pricing them and doing them and round again and worrying about the next job. The image helps greatly and I have been totally honest with my customers which they encouraged. 12 months on, the referals and repeats have started and I can not deal with the work. In two weeks time my brother in law is joining me after completing the training scheme and we can grow. I always wanted my own business and the Fastplumb team helped me do it with plenty of blood sweat a tears. Where I will be in 5 years time I don't know but I am enjoying myself. By the way - I have had referred insurance work.

I STARTED A FASTPLUMB FRANCHISE IN OCT 2005 & PULLED OUT APPROX 12 MONTHS LATER. I DID NOT RECIEVE A SINGLE JOB THROUGH FASTPLUMB. OF THE 12 PEOPLE ON MY COURSE AT LEAST 5 HAVE PULLED OUT. JUST TAKE THE TRAINING NOT THE FRANCHISE.

Fast Plumb is now called PlumbRite. Still trading from the same place. DO NOT hand money over to these money grabbing buggers like I did. Take note, they are very cooperative at first but, wait until your cheque clears. Then they will show their true colours. On the first day of training I discovered that the franchise I was buying into was not worth it's money and requested my money back or a rebate and would settle for the training only. Guess what, they didn't give a $%&*$%&. I had to continue with the training knowing that I would not get a penny had I of walked out. Be aware: PlumbRite are the new Fast Plumb in town. Stay away Posted by: A @#$@#&*ed off Hull former franchisee.

Please do your homework before making false and libellous statements like this.

PlumbRite is an approved City & Guilds training centre, (No. 007832) and simply took over the building that FastPlumb used to operate from - that is all. There is NO CONNECTION between the two companies and if you check at Companies House you will see this to be true.
